About This Place

Nestled conveniently in Long Beach at 2944 Clark Ave, COPA—also known affectionately as Coffee Parlor—delivers a vibrant and unique blend of café culture and casual dining that perfectly suits early birds and brunch lovers alike. This multifaceted spot operates as a coffee shop, espresso bar, and brunch restaurant all rolled into one, seamlessly transitioning from a bustling morning haven to a laid-back evening taco and burrito destination.

The culinary offerings at COPA center around fresh, thoughtfully crafted, and boldly flavorful fare. Their menu reads like a love letter to California’s fresh and bright palate, starring signature dishes such as the California Avocado Toast served on their house-made Gusto sourdough bread, which reviewers hail as an incomparable, upscale twist on a beloved classic. This isn’t just any avocado toast—it’s a vibrant layering of ripe avocado atop crusty, artisan bread, delivering a satisfying crunch and creamy freshness in every bite. Fans like Julia Norman rave about it being “next-level restaurant quality” with perfectly balanced flavors.

Another standout is the Basic Breakfast Burrito, a generous wrap that combines fluffy eggs, savory birria beef, creamy avocado, and tallow-fried tater tots, all enrobed in a warm tortilla. The addition of pico de gallo and house-made salsa elevates this burrito into a celebration of textures and smoky, tangy notes—as one guest described it, “bomb.com.” For those craving something sweet alongside their morning brew, COPA’s baked pastries and unique treats like the Brown Butter Hazelnut Espresso Chocolate Chip Cookie offer a decadent finish to your meal. The Horchata French Toast is another must-try, balancing rich creaminess with a subtle cinnamon warmth that wraps around your taste buds.

The beverage program is equally impressive and thoughtfully curated. From expertly pulled espresso drinks such as their celebrated Flat White and the velvety Salted Caramel Latte, to refreshing cold options like their house cold brew—which guests praise for its distinctive depth and smoothness—COPA treats coffee as an art form. The Matcha Latte stands out as a crowd favorite, delivering a vibrant, earthy complexity that few spots manage to achieve. Kenneth Jimenez’s glowing remarks about the “delicious” sea salt caramel latte and the knowledgeable, welcoming service perfectly encapsulate the engaging and friendly atmosphere that defines COPA.

The ambiance reflects the spirited energy of a local favorite—a place that’s lively yet approachable. The indoor space may be cozy, creating a bustling environment where customers eagerly await their orders, but the addition of a converted parking lot picnic area provides an airy, casual spot for alfresco dining. This thoughtful outdoor setup encourages communal enjoyment and adds to the café’s welcoming vibe.

Customer experiences underscore COPA’s loyal following: Brad Beggs notes the quality of the fresh food options and the charm of the new picnic seating, while Trent Koenig highlights their exceptional service and the intriguing evening shift into a pizza-centric menu, hinting at exciting possibilities beyond the daylight hours.

In short, COPA crafts not just meals, but moments—each plate and cup offering a sensory journey through fresh, lively, and inventive flavors that echo the creativity and warmth of Long Beach itself. Whether you’re after a perfectly brewed espresso, a satisfying breakfast burrito, or a delicious avocado toast that shatters expectations, COPA is a destination that invites you to savor every bite and sip with genuine joy.

This place is amazing. Easily one of the best matcha lattes and avocado toasts I have had in the broader South Bay. I usually regret ordering avocado toast bc I feel I have scammed myself paying so much for avo on bread, but COPA’s is next-level restaurant quality. So fresh & flavorful on Gusto sourdough. Would definitely recommend ordering it OG style. It’s busy inside (for good reason) but tables clear up and the service is also so friendly and attentive. If I lived in this area I’d be a regular.

Nice little coffee shop with excellent fresh food options including a popular avocado toast on their own sourdough bread and various breakfast burritos. Parking lot has been converted to picnic table dining area, do parking is on the street. Good cup of coffee for $3 (small) or $4 (large).

Great service and atmosphere. Cold brew really hit well and at 7am the blueberry muffin was warm and delicious. Apparently it turns into a pizza joint at night so that’s something to look forward to.

Just had the best breakfast burrito ever. Birria beef, 2 eggs, tallow-fried tater tots, pico de gallo and avocado... bomb.com... good salsa also. Not sure what is in this coffee but it also is probably the best I've ever had. Different, interesting flavor. The only downside, and I've only been here once, it's a little small (tough to jockey for position waiting for my food) and a little pricey. $18 for the birria breakfast burrito... I would have hoped it was a little larger or a little less expensive. Still, delicious.

Food: plenty of drinks and baked goods to choose from! I ordered the sea salt caramel latte and it was delicious. The sourdough is baked fresh and when you bite into it, it really does taste like that homemade feel that we are all looking for in food. Service: I told the clerk it was my first time and she explained some of her favorite drinks and asked me what I liked. She also explained how they bake their own goods in house. Final thought: the parking is horrible, so be prepared to find a spot. Small business with yummy delights. I'll be back!

Easily one of the best “dirty lavender chai w/oatmilk” I have ever had & I’ve been ordering them all over the country for a decade. So delicious & my husband & I both ordered food & basically licked our plates clean. He had one of the bowls with purple potatoes & beets & I had the avocado toast. Loved the atmosphere as well. We sat for hours reading & working.

I am at the point where I no longer want to eat out unless the food is unique and high quality and Coffee Parlor provides me with both of those things. Their breakfast burritos and tallow tots are my favorite items on the menu and the coffee is phenomenal as well. The workers are amazing and it’s such a perfect cozy spot to hang out at even for just a few minutes while you sip your drink or finish your meal. Truly worth a visit when you’re in the area.
